Fine Art BA at Newcastle University
The paintings below are from my final degree show where I specialised in oil painting. I sketched structure with Lascaux acrylics, completing the paintings with Blockx oil paints. At that time major influences were Lucian Freud, Frank Auerbach, Alberto Giacometti and Vincent Van Gogh.
It was 8-10 years after the degree show when I began researching this time period to understand my intentions, what motivated me and how my learned experience impacted the what, why and how. Unfortunately, the harddrive holding the digital camera files had become corrupted. By then the paintings had yellowed because of the use of linseed oil as a thinner, tut tut. These are the images I was able to find.
